This is the original workout that started it all. This is a 9 week workout program that focuses heavily on cardio and body weight exercises. For somebody looking for a weight loss DVD I would highly recommend this. Out of the 4 different insanity programs I will be going over this is definitely the one that I would recommend for people just starting out and looking to get in shape and lose pounds and shed inches.

This workout is broken into 2 different phases with each phase going for 1 month. Between the 2 phases you will get a recovery week containing light workouts and stretching. For anybody looking to get back into shape within 9 weeks I do not think you’ll find a workout that allows you to get back into shape faster.

When I first began doing this workout routine I was already in decent shape from playing basketball regularly but it still kicked my butt. I did a phase 1 workout and was sweating like crazy and had to take several breaks to catch my breath. The warm up will feel like a full blown workout during the first week but eventually you’ll begin to view them as the warm up they’re intended to be. By just a few weeks you will already be able to go much further in the video without taking breaks and by the end of the entire workout your body will completely transform. You’ll need to go out and buy a new wardrobe with all the fat loss you will experience. For references I would recommend looking at google images before and after photos to see that this is the real deal.
